"Reading like a reader and reading like a writer" are words I use to guide my learning and the learning of my students. I am passionate about helping students find value and purpose in their lives for all types of literacies. Currently an 8th grade reading teacher at Mascoutah Middle School, I have had the privilege of working with students in grades 1-5 asas RTI teacher. I received both my Bachelor and Master degrees from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and I am proud Saluki!I was introduced to the CoLab through the Piasa Bluffs Writing Project in2009, and I have continued the collaboration of fellows of the WritingProject through the development of the CoLab. The CoLab has helped mebecome reflective about my practice and realize the infinite value ofprofessional collaboration.
